Sketchy Things,
Frank Dietz

A dedicated horror movie fan since the age of five, Frank Dietz has found success in the film industry as a writer, actor and animator. Frank grew up on Long Island, N.Y., and then attended the State University at Oswego, where he majored in theatre and art. He starred in a series of now-cult low-budget horror films like ZOMBIE NIGHTMARE and BLACK ROSES.
Bitten by the writing bug, Frank then moved to Los Angeles, where he quickly landed a manager and his screenwriting career began. He wrote the scripts for many independent features, including NAKED SOULS for WarnerVision, COLD HARVEST for NuImage and the MAGIC IN THE MIRROR series for Paramount. In 1996, Frank returned to his artistic roots and joined Walt Disney Feature Animation as an animation artist. His work can be seen in such films as HERCULES, MULAN, TARZAN
and FANTASIA 2000. During this period Frank created the SKETCHY THINGS series of classic monster sketchbooks, which became extremely popular with genre fans. This lead to years of commissions for horror and fantasy books, magazines and convention appearances. In both 2006 and 2007, Frank was awarded the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for “Artist Of The Year.”Frank returned to acting with a role in Larry Blamire's THE LOST SKELETON RETURNS AGAIN, released in August 2010.
Frank's comedy screenplay WOODSTUCK was sold to John Davis at 20th Century Fox.
He joined forces with producer Todd Traina to develop and write a series of comedies, including THE WOODY and I HATE KIDS. Recently, Frank completed the screenplay for THE GOOD NEIGHBOR, a neo-noir crime drama for Jennifer Lopez Entertainment, working with Traina and Christopher Eberts, and with Ms. Lopez attached as the lead.Frank is also the writer and associate producer of a new horror movie franchise scheduled for release in 2011.
